Hospitals are designed around beds

Have you ever considered how weird it is to express the size of a hospital in the amount of beds it has? Or how normal it is to tell people you are lying in the hospital? This all has to do with how hospitals are designed around their beds. From a traditional point of view, people  are nursed and fed in their bed, only leaving it to go to the toilet. However, the more time spent lying in bed, the longer the recovery takes and the lower the fitness levels are when they return home. Getting people to move is still really difficult, even more so when they are stuck to their bed. We want to help patients to start moving again, helping them to get home faster and in better shape.

Our Solution - Awear Spark

A single worn movement sensor. When wearing the sensor, it recognizes if you lie down, sit, stand or walk. With the accompanied app, you can track how you are doing and set up goals together with the medical staff.

Your movement data can be seen by your medical staff, providing them a tool to check how you are doing. This means you don’t have to tell every memeber of staff the same story again.

The sensors track your movements, giving you insight in your activity and movements over time, making you aware of you progress. Set goals together with your therapist and see how you are doing. Progress is motivating.
